COMPOSITION- Cushions made from offcuts of 50-60 year old woollen kilims.
DESCRIPTION - This lovely cushion is made from the offcuts of several very different kilims. There are several feature strips of kilim fabric incorporating stripes of various colours, serving to break up the patches of solid colour of red, magenta, deep aubergine, and both muted and bright oranges. Wonderfully effective textile combination and each patchwork piece has a different weave and texture. Back of cushion is brown cotton fabric with a zip towards one end. Cushion inserts are not provided.

DESCRIPTION - Very finely woven Persian wool flat weave salt bag. The bottle shape is typical of salt bags of this region. The design of the field is dominated by strong geometric motifs. The back section is woven in a blue and red striped pattern.
CONDITION - Excellent.

DESCRIPTION - This is a beautiful hand-woven woollen Persian Kilim with multi-coloured field and burgundy and cream wool fringing. Very unusual design with mulit-coloured tassels arranged down the centre of the piece, and tufts of coloured wool throughout the field of the design. Would make a very unique table-runner or wall hanging - definitely a conversation piece.
CONDITION - Excellent.

COMPOSITION- Wool , Silk, Beading and Metal elements
DESCRIPTION - This interesting tribal piece could possibly have been used as a mirror bag, but more likely to have been a general purpose storage item. The foundation is handwoven tribal wool design in burgundy, black, dark blue-grey and light blue-grey tones, with white and yellow embroidery details. Small tassels have been sewn onto the field in hot pink, green and grey silk thread. A gorgeous border has been sewn around all four sides with a double layer of fringing in black and burgundy silk thread. Three stunningly detailed multicoloured tassels have then been added at the top of the bag. The central tassel consists of beading, woven silk, and silver disc elements. The rear of the bag is cotton fabric. This is a wonderful collectors piece.
CONDITION - Excellent.

Kyrgyz Nomads Woollen Felted Hand Decorated Textile

COMPOSITION- Felted wool
DESCRIPTION - This Kyrgyz felted woollen textile is a wonderful example of the tribal handicrafts of the nomadic peoples of Kyrgyzstan. Such items had many uses - as a seat cover, a bedside rug, and occasionally even acted as a shock absorber for fragile items like mirrors, whilst the nomads moved from place to place. The textile is made of various colours of felted sheep wool, decorated with embroidered stitches in deep orange wool. The predominant colours are black and burgundy, with natural coloured wool patterned border, in a traditional Kyrgyz design composed of tribal motifs - symbolizing both the sparse steppe vegetation and the horns of sheep. We think this tribal textile piece would be wonderful as a wall hanging, or framed behind glass to protect it. The condition of the piece is superb.
CONDITION - Excellent.

DESCRIPTION - Beautifully decorated Oyna Halta (Nomadic Mirror Bag) face originating from Southern Uzbekistan. The pattern of cotton hand embroidery is composed of four rosettes, and the piece is edged with a black cotton fringe on three sides. There is no backing to the item (reverse side of embroidery stitches are visible).
CONDITION - Excellent.

COMPOSITION- The foundation fabric is soft black cotton fabric with silk hand embroidery. The back of the piece is patterned cotton fabric.
DESCRIPTION - The field of this wonderfully bright handmade silk embroidered nomadic oyna halta mirror bag face is filled with dark hot pink, ochre and green blossoms and floral decorations hand embroidered using silk thread in couching stitch. Two distinctive coloured borders run around all sides. Three sides of the piece are edged with pink tassels. The back of the piece is patterned cotton fabric.
CONDITION - Excellent.

COMPOSITION- Red cotton foundation cloth embroidered in multicoloured silk thread. Cotton crocheted border with metal discs.
DESCRIPTION - Beautifully decorative oyna halta embroidered in multicoloured silk tribal designs and motifs. The design is quite unique, consisting of a central disk surrounded by floral stalks and astrology symbols. The field is framed in a black cotton border with white stitched detail. This is then framed with a colourful hand crocheted fringe with round metal elements as a feature detail. Gorgeous tribal textile collectors piece.
CONDITION - Excellent.

ORIGIN - Uzbekistan
COMPOSITION- Silk / Cotton.
DESCRIPTION - This antique Oyna Halta (Mirror Bag) dates from the early 1900's. The ikat fabric in the centre of the piece is hand-dyed and very finely hand woven using traditional methods. The border of the piece is quilted using a combination of ikat fabrics and coloured cotton. The outside border is black cotton. The backing of the piece is a floral cotton fabric.
CONDITION - A couple of slight watermarks on main ikat field. Apart from this, piece is in excellent condition for its age.

COMPOSITION- Silk.
DESCRIPTION - This beautiful soft and light silk shawl is a 'Rumol' which is printed with wooden printing stamps called "Kalybs". The pattern consists of a symbolic sun, traditional almonds "bodom"- symbols of life and fertility. Colours are beautifully rich.
CONDITION - Excellent condition considering the age of the piece.
