Do you remember the song “It’s a small world” by Richard & Robert Sherman?  As a child it was my favorite.  I would sit and listen to it over and over, looking at the cover decorated so beautifully with images of children from all different cultures around the world.  It spoke to me of the diversity of peoples around the world but also of our connectedness and of the things we all have in common.  When Ang and I asked one another, “Why are we doing this?” our answer had to do with that song so fondly remembered from both of our childhoods.  It’s about celebrating and honouring the differences between the many cultures of the world and it’s about connecting with different cultures and peoples through the beautiful cultural artifacts they produce.  

Ang and I share a passion for design, travel and people.  In a world where so much is mass produced and environmentally toxic, handmade tribal and ethnic textiles are unique, one off works of art which reflect the authenticity and integrity of traditional cultures and traditional ways of living and which are produced according to methods which are environmentally sustainable.
